Sanderson extends retail credentials with RBS purchase
Sanderson, the specialist in multi-channel retail, wholesale and business software solutions, has reinforced its multi-channel credentials by taking over Retail Business Solutions Group, an established supplier of electronic point of sale systems to the bricks and mortar retail market. It describes the acquisition as its largest since it was floated on the stock market in 2004.
RBS provides front- and back-office EPOS systems to a range of 200 larger retailers, including Blacks Leisure, Harrods, French Connection, Slater Menswear and Wyevale Garden Centres. Its products include Retail-J software and various IT services.
Earlier this year Sanderson acquired the Elucid multi-channel fulfilment software range from K3, and last year it acquired Megabyte (now Sanderson Retail Systems). It can now claim to offer a full range of mail order, online and in-store retail solutions.
RBS managing director Richard Goodall, who is joining Sanderson, says the two businesses 'are entirely complementary and will provide good opportunities for cross-selling of products and services.'
