Integrated fulfilment in upgraded Great Little Trading site
Great Little Trading Co, the mail order and online 'department store' for parents and children, has launched what it describes as a next-generation e-commerce web site and call-centre solution.
Development on the site itself has been handled by Fresca Commerce, an on-demand e-commerce platform specialist. This means the site is hosted, managed, maintained and supported by Fresca, which has agreed to a service level agreement that provides 99.9 per cent availability.
Fresca also gets involved in the actual fulfilment, which is handled by its third-party logistics and fulfilment partner, iForce. Tight integration with iForce is said to produce an improved and seamless customer buying experience. It is also said to make management of the online catalogue easier.
Features of the new site include a sophisticated in-site search and a guided navigation system, which enables customers to filter products by type, availability, colour and other attributes.
Another innovative feature is 'Fresca zoom', which produces enlarged and enhanced views of the products in response to a simple mouse roll-over. The check-out process is also said to be improved, and includes optional 'favourites saved' lists.
